Visitors are attracted to the Nelson Tasman region to capture some of the true essence of our Kiwi lifestyle.  They enjoy its diverse landscape, snow capped mountains, lush green forests, rolling vineyards, golden beaches, turquoise waters and long summer balmy days. 

Autumn Vineyard The Nelson area has wineries, crafts and gardens to tour, or lap up the culture at historic Nelson city with its superb caf├ęs, restaurants, museums and galleries. The pretty alpine village of St Arnaud sits on the doorstep of the Nelson Lakes area, famous for its stunning glacial lakes and alpine hikes.. Historic Nelson city, with its warm, sunny climate and relaxed outdoor lifestyle, is home to a vibrant arts and crafts community and is Australasia's largest seafood port. Visitors can soak up the atmosphere at one of the pavement cafes, or explore Nelson's gardens, markets, museums, galleries and studios.

Sea-kayaking, walking and swimming on one of our golden sand beaches are popular in the Abel Tasman National Park. Hiking, swimming and stunning scenery are on offer in the Kahurangi National Park and the alpine region of Nelson Lakes National Park. Visitors can explore the hills by quad-bike, skywire, or take a guided trip to some of the most remote, scenic and remarkable corners of the region.
